SPA Hotel in Razlog Reports Strong Interest from Visitors from Israel, Greece, Romania, North Macedonia

Petar Zahov, General Manager of the Katarino SPA Hotel in Razlog, reported notable visitor interest originating from Israel, Greece, Romania, and North Macedonia. While the hotel’s primary clientele remains Bulgarian, Zahov noted that international demand is also evident. He stated that this influx reflects both sustained regional demand and established brand recognition across the Balkans and the Middle East.

The Katarino SPA Hotel was recently ranked first among Bulgaria’s top ten five-star mountain hotels for 2025, marking the second consecutive year for the award. This ranking is based on the HotScore™ index, which evaluates guest reviews from over 1,200 hotels nationwide. The hotel has accumulated several accolades, including recognition as the best four-star mountain spa hotel in 2020 and the best four-star spa hotel offering locally sourced food in 2022.

The hotel’s spa facilities offer comprehensive thermal and relaxation amenities, all complimentary for guests. These include indoor and outdoor pools heated to approximately 34°C, a cave-style jacuzzi, a salt room, and various saunas (Finnish, Kiva, and infrared). Additional features encompass an aroma and panoramic steam bath, a laconium, and a tepidarium.

Services extend to massages, hydrotherapy treatments, and specialized therapies, catering to relaxation, recovery, and preventive care. The spa area continues to develop, highlighted by a new outdoor pool and infinity jacuzzi added in 2023. Furthermore, BTA is featuring certified spa and wellness centers in Bulgaria through its BG SPA: Salus per aquam initiative.

This effort is connected to the HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT in Varna, scheduled for May 11–13, 2026, where BTA will serve as the main media partner.
