SPA Hotel in Razlog Reports Strong Interest from Visitors from Israel, Greece, Romania, North Macedonia

Petar Zahov, General Manager of the Katarino SPA Hotel in Razlog, reported notable visitor interest emanating from Israel, Greece, Romania, and North Macedonia. While the hotel’s primary clientele remains Bulgarian, Zahov indicated that international demand is also evident. He stated that this influx of interest reflects both sustained regional demand and established brand recognition across the Balkans and the Middle East.

Katarino SPA Hotel has achieved recognition for its quality, being ranked the top five-star mountain hotel in Bulgaria for 2025 for the second consecutive year. This ranking is determined by the HotScore™ index, which assesses guest reviews from over 1,200 hotels nationwide. The hotel has accrued several other accolades, including recognition as the best four-star mountain spa hotel in 2020 and the most eco-friendly destination in 2021.

The hotel’s spa center provides comprehensive thermal and relaxation facilities, all complimentary for guests. Amenities include indoor and outdoor pools heated to approximately 34°C, a cave-style jacuzzi, a salt room, and various saunas (Finnish, Kiva, and infrared). Additional features encompass an aroma and panoramic steam bath, a laconium, adventure showers, a tepidarium, and a panoramic relaxation area.

Services range from massages and hydrotherapy treatments to specialized therapies, focusing on recovery and preventive care. The facility caters to diverse needs, offering flotation baths and deep-tissue massages. A new outdoor pool with an infinity jacuzzi was added in 2023, demonstrating the hotel’s continuous development toward a complete wellness experience.

Separately, BTA is featuring certified spa, wellness, and medical spa centers in Bulgaria through its BG SPA: Salus per aquam, Health Through Water initiative. This program, a partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and SPA Tourism, is in connection with the HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT scheduled for May 2026 in Varna, Sts.
