Two of President Iotova’s Armenia Visit for European Political Community Summit

Bulgarian President Iliana Iotova is continuing her visit to Armenia for the Eighth Summit of the European Political Community, which commenced in Yerevan on Monday. As part of the summit agenda, President Iotova is scheduled to participate in a high-level discussion concerning the impact of the Vertical Gas Corridor on regional energy security. This strategic initiative aims to bolster energy security and diversify natural gas supplies across Southeastern, Eastern, and Central Europe.

During her address at the forum, President Iotova is set to emphasize the importance of transport and energy connectivity within Europe. Her schedule also includes participation in an event titled “European Coalition Against Drugs.”

On the sidelines of the main summit, President Iotova is slated to meet with Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas. The European Political Community Summit is jointly chaired by European Council President Antonio Costa and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The diplomatic engagements have already seen significant developments. On Sunday, President Iotova and Armenian counterpart Vahagn Khachaturyan signed a Joint Declaration establishing a Strategic Partnership between Bulgaria and Armenia. Additionally, President Iotova visited the Peyo Yavorov Primary School in Yerevan.

During discussions with the Armenian President, President Iotova and his counterpart discussed methods to deepen bilateral cooperation. President Iotova underscored the critical role of the European Political Community in enhancing connectivity and fostering broader relations throughout the continent.
