Election Commission: With 68.34% of Tally Sheets Processed, Progressive Bulgaria Leads with 44.5%, Second Is CC-DB with 14.0%

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has released interim results following the parliamentary elections held on April 19. These preliminary figures are based on the processing of 68.34% of the available tally sheets, compiled by section election commissions and subsequently processed at the constituency election commissions, as reported by 7:00 am on Monday. These proceedings mark the eighth parliamentary election conducted in Bulgaria since 2021.

The CEC operates under established electoral guidelines that dictate specific timelines for finalizing the results. According to the Election Code, the commission is mandated to announce the total votes received and the resulting distribution of seats among various political parties and coalitions no later than four days following the election date. Furthermore, the official names of the elected Members of Parliament must be published within seven days of the election.

The release of these interim figures provides an initial overview of the voting outcome while the full tabulation continues. The work of the various election commissions is crucial to the final declaration of results. Stakeholders are awaiting the completion of the tallying process to confirm the final seat allocation.

The CEC continues to manage the data collation, ensuring that all processed materials are accounted for to provide a comprehensive and verifiable report on the electoral mandate.
