The novel Time Shelter has recently been published in the Japanese market, according to announcements made by its author, Georgi Gospodinov. Gospodinov confirmed that the book was released in Tokyo in April by the Kayakawa publishing house. This publication marks a notable milestone, as reviews indicate that Time Shelter is the first novel by a Bulgarian author published in Japan since 1989, representing a significant cultural breakthrough for the author.

The reception to the novel has been strong, with reports showing it currently ranks among the top five best-selling foreign publications on Amazon Japan. The translation of the work into Japanese was handled by Kenji Terashima. In addition to this Japanese release, the works of Gospodinov have achieved international recognition, having been translated into numerous languages, including English, German, Polish, Spanish, and Chinese.
