Killed, 14 Injured in Drone Attack in Odesa

An overnight drone attack targeted the city of Odesa in Southern Ukraine, resulting in at least two people killed and fourteen others injured, according to Oleh Kiper, Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration. Following the assault, rescuers from the State Emergency Service evacuated 36 residents, including two children, from the affected area. The consequences of the Russian attack on Odesa included significant structural damage across residential sectors.

Reports indicate that at least three residential buildings sustained considerable damage, with multiple apartments and facades destroyed and numerous windows shattered. Authorities confirmed that all relevant services are currently working to manage the aftermath of the overnight incident. In addition to the residential damage, a merchant vessel flying the flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis, which was en route to a port in Greater Odesa, sustained damage.

A fire broke out aboard the ship but was reportedly extinguished quickly by the crew, with no casualties reported from the vessel. While the primary focus remains on the damage assessment and humanitarian response, the area has a significant population base. Historically, the Odesa region has housed a substantial community of Bulgarians, who represent a notable demographic group within the city and surrounding districts.

Despite the localized damage, emergency services continue operations to address the full scope of the overnight attack.
