The Nessebar municipality has announced a comprehensive cultural and sporting programme in anticipation of the start of the Giro d’Italia 2026 on May 8. The local government has scheduled several events to celebrate the cycling race and engage residents and visitors. The festivities are set to commence on May 7.
The initial day’s activities will feature a bazaar held in Mesambria Square, followed by an amateur cycling tour through the seaside town beginning at 10 a.m. As evening approaches, the programme continues with scheduled performances. Local groups are slated to perform at the Yana Laskova National Community Centre, while the Old Town will host musical concerts.
These performances will feature the trio VIVA and the rock group B.T.R., taking place against the backdrop of the historic fortress walls. Following the evening’s musical acts, the municipality has arranged a fireworks display. On the day the Giro d’Italia officially begins, May 8, the municipality will organize a dedicated cross-country race.
This event will follow the official race route, providing a local sporting complement to the international cycling competition. The planned schedule aims to provide a multi-faceted celebration, blending historical ambiance, community activities, and athletic events for the arrival of the Giro d’Italia.
