Bulgarian weightlifter Karlos Nasar secured his fourth European title at the European Championships held in Batumi. Competing in the men’s 94 kg weight class, Nasar achieved a total of 386 kg to claim the gold medal. Nasar established an early lead in the snatch with a lift of 176 kg, followed by a 210 kg lift in the clean and jerk.
His performance in both disciplines proved decisive, leading to a dominant overall victory at the European level. Following the competition, Armenia’s Ara Aganyan finished in second place with a total of 381 kg, and France’s Romain Imadouchene secured the bronze medal with 370 kg. During the snatch portion, Nasar confirmed his gold medal lift with a successful 176 kg lift after initially opening at 170 kg.
In the clean and jerk, his first attempt at 210 kg was initially invalidated by the judges but was successfully ratified on his second attempt at the same weight. For his final lift in the clean and jerk, Nasar attempted 223 kg in pursuit of a world record total, but this lift was unsuccessful. Despite the near-world record attempt, Nasar’s consistent performance secured him his fourth European championship title.
