Nasar Wins Fourth European Weightlifting Title

Bulgarian weightlifter Karlos Nasar secured his fourth European title at the European Championships held in Batumi. Competing in the men’s 94 kg weight class, Nasar achieved a total of 386 kg to claim the overall victory. Nasar established an early lead in the snatch with a lift of 176 kg, followed by a clean and jerk lift of 210 kg.

His performances in both disciplines proved decisive, leading to his dominant win. The competition saw Ara Aganyan of Armenia finish in second place with a total of 381 kg, and Romain Imadouchene of France secured the bronze medal with a total of 370 kg. During the snatch portion, Nasar confirmed his gold medal lift with a successful 176 kg lift after opening at 170 kg.

In the clean and jerk, his initial 210 kg attempt was invalidated by the judges upon review, but he successfully lifted the same weight on his second attempt. For his final lift in the clean and jerk, Nasar attempted 223 kg in pursuit of a world record total, but this lift was unsuccessful. Overall, the results mark a significant achievement for Nasar, solidifying his status at the European level.
