In the clean and jerk, his initial 210 kg attempt was invalidated by the judges upon review, but he successfully lifted the same weight on his second attempt. For his final lift in the clean and jerk, Nasar attempted 223 kg in pursuit of a world record total, but this lift was unsuccessful.
