The Burgas Municipality has announced temporary modifications to the city’s traffic flow in observance of the Giro D’Italia cycling tour, effective from May 6 through May 9. The municipal press centre issued the notice on Monday, advising residents and visitors of expected disruptions due to the passage of race teams and competitors. To manage the increased activity, the municipality plans to introduce significant changes to the organization of central city streets, which will face closures and restricted traffic access during the specified period.
In an effort to minimize inconvenience for the public, the local government has arranged for the provision of free buffer parking lots across the city. Specifically, on May 8 and May 9, the right lanes of Odrin Street and San Stefano Boulevard have been designated as these overflow parking zones. The tour itinerary involves several key dates.
The initial event on May 6 will be the official team presentation held at the Burgas Summer Theatre. The sporting events continue on May 8, when Burgas will host the final stage of the first leg of the Giro D’Italia. The tour concludes its local participation on May 9, which marks the start of the second stage.
The municipality urges the public to plan travel accordingly to navigate the temporary adjustments to local traffic patterns surrounding these major cycling events.
