The Burgas Municipality has announced temporary alterations to the organization of vehicular movement within the coastal city, effective from May 6 through May 9, due to the staging of the Giro D’Italia cycling tour. The municipal press center confirmed on Monday that residents and visitors should anticipate significant changes to local mobility. To accommodate the passage of racing teams and the associated events, several key central streets are scheduled for closure, leading to expected traffic restrictions throughout the specified period.
In response to these disruptions, the municipality plans to introduce several measures to minimize inconvenience for the public. Specifically, the city will provide free access to designated buffer parking lots. On May 8 and May 9, the right lanes of Odrin Street and San Stefano Boulevard have been designated to serve as these overflow parking zones.
The tour schedule includes the official team presentation on May 6 at the Burgas Summer Theatre. Furthermore, Burgas is set to host the final stage of the first leg of the Giro D’Italia on May 8, followed by the start of the second stage on May 9. The municipality urges citizens and visitors to plan their routes accordingly to navigate the temporary adjustments to the city’s traffic flow.
