Therapies, Hammam Rituals Draw Interest at Astor Garden, Aqua House Thermal & Beach near Varna

At the Sts Constantine and Helena seaside resort near Varna, Eastern therapies and hammam rituals are generating significant guest interest, according to Nikolay Popov, SPA Manager at Astor Garden Hotel. Popov noted that the hotel’s affiliation with the Aqua House Thermal & Beach complex allows the facility to continually enhance its services to meet the evolving demands of modern travelers seeking diverse wellness experiences. The complex aims to support both mental and physical well-being, offering guests options ranging from various pools, suitable for lap swimming, to tailored packages and beauty treatments.

However, Popov advised caution regarding specific treatments for clients who have undergone cosmetic or invasive procedures. He stated that high humidity and steam, such as those found in a traditional hammam, should be avoided in such cases, a precaution that also applies to traditional massages. Despite these limitations, aromatherapy remains a popular choice due to its rapid effects on the body, and it is often combined with other services.

Guests can also benefit from mud therapy, and management is reportedly considering incorporating algae-based treatments due to the natural availability and known health benefits of seaweed. In a broader industry context, BTA is highlighting Bulgarian spa and wellness centers through its feature, “BG SPA: Salus per aquam.” This initiative, organized with the Ministry of Tourism and the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and SPA Tourism, showcases over 200 certified facilities. This effort is linked to the HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT, scheduled for May 11–13, 2026, in Varna, Sts.

Constantine and Helena, Golden Sands, and Albena, with BTA serving as the main media partner.
