Folk Group from Madrid to Perform Together with Severnyatsi Folk Dance Formation from Segovia in Munich

The Veselyatsite folk fitness group from Madrid will join the Severnyatsi folk dance formation from Segovia, Spain, at the eleventh edition of the traveling gathering, “Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Hands.” This event is scheduled to take place from May 15 to 17 at BMW Park in Munich, Germany. Mariyana Topalska, leader of the Veselyatsite group, stated that their performance recreates a narrative of an elderly couple recalling their youthful romance while anticipating their daughter’s wedding. The central theme conveyed by the performance emphasizes the enduring nature of love, suggesting that personal connections provide lasting value.

The Severnyatsi dance formation, established in 2015 and led by Galya Marinova, is collaborating with the Veselyatsite group. Topalska noted that this joint participation aims to combine the efforts of both ensembles to present Bulgarian culture to an international audience. The choreography was developed through the collaborative work of dancers from both formations and the former leader of Severnyatsi, Antoniy Angelov.

The festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance, supports amateur folklore ensembles performing outside Bulgaria. The initiative was founded by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted the first and tenth editions. For the Munich event, organizers anticipate participation from over 100 dance ensembles and an attendance exceeding 4,000 guests.

The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) serves as the official media partner for the gathering.
