While the hotel’s primary clientele remains Bulgarian, Zahov indicated that demand from abroad is also evident. He attributed this to sustained regional demand and strong brand recognition across the Balkans and the Middle East.
Zahov also noted the hotel’s consistent recognition, stating that Katarino SPA Hotel was ranked first among the top ten five-star mountain hotels in Bulgaria for 2025, marking its second consecutive year in the ranking. This assessment is based on the HotScore™ index, which reviews guest feedback from over 1,200 hotels nationwide. The hotel has accumulated several other accolades, including recognition as the best four-star mountain spa hotel in 2020 and the best four-star spa hotel offering local cuisine in 2022.
The hotel’s extensive spa centre provides complimentary access to numerous thermal and relaxation facilities. These amenities include indoor and outdoor pools heated to approximately 34°C, a cave-style jacuzzi, a salt room, and various saunas (Finnish, Kiva, and infrared). Additional features include an aroma and panoramic steam bath, a laconium, and a tepidarium.
Beyond facilities, the spa offers diverse treatments such as hydrotherapy, deep-tissue massages, and specialized therapies, catering to wellness, recovery, and preventive care. The centre continues to expand, having added a new outdoor pool with an infinity jacuzzi in 2023, solidifying its focus on a comprehensive wellness experience.
