SPA Hotel in Razlog Reports Strong Interest from Visitors from Israel, Greece, Romania, North Macedonia

Petar Zahov, General Manager of the Katarino SPA Hotel in Razlog, reported significant international visitor interest, noting strong demand from markets including Israel, Greece, Romania, and North Macedonia. While the hotel’s primary clientele remains Bulgarian, Zahov indicated that this influx reflects both sustained regional demand and established brand recognition across the Balkans and the Middle East. The hotel’s standing was recently affirmed by its ranking as the number one among the top ten five-star mountain hotels in Bulgaria for 2025, according to the HotScore™ index.

This recognition follows several previous accolades, including awards for best mountain spa hotel in 2020 and best four-star spa hotel in 2022. The spa center provides comprehensive wellness facilities with complimentary guest access. Amenities include indoor and outdoor pools heated to approximately 34°C, a cave-style jacuzzi, a salt room, and various saunas (Finnish, Kiva, and infrared).

Additional facilities feature an aroma steam bath, laconium, and a tepidarium. Treatment options are diverse, encompassing massages, hydrotherapy—such as flotation and Cleopatra baths—and specialized Eastern therapies designed for recovery and preventive care. The hotel continues to enhance its wellness offerings, notably with a new outdoor pool and infinity jacuzzi built in 2023.

Separately, BTA is promoting Bulgarian wellness through the “BG SPA: Salus per aquam” initiative, which involves over 200 certified spa centers. This effort is linked to the major European health tourism event, the HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT, scheduled for 2026.
