The Ismena SPA Complex has introduced outdoor thermal soaking pools filled with hot mineral water, marking the first such open-air mineral soaking facility in Devin. This year-round feature has generated significant visitor interest. The entire complex is designed as a four-season destination, merging modern architecture with the style of traditional Rhodope Revival houses.
The spa center utilizes healing mineral water sourced from the Bedenski spring for various treatments. According to management, the mineral water’s alkaline properties are beneficial for cleansing the skin, stimulating regeneration, and supporting detoxification. Immersion in this water is particularly recommended for individuals with sedentary occupations or past injuries, as the heat and mineral composition help relax muscles and improve mobility without straining the heart.
The 17-decare complex includes a hotel section, 15 guesthouses, and landscaped park areas. The wellness facilities feature both indoor and outdoor pools, alongside amenities such as saunas, steam baths, jacuzzis, and aromatic baths. Beyond the hot soaking pools, guests can engage in contrast therapy, utilizing a 5°C shock pool for a refreshing effect following heat treatments.
The spa menu also offers specialized services, including volcanic stone massage and restorative magnesium treatments. While Bulgarian tourists remain the primary visitors, international guests arrive from Germany, Israel, Russia, and the United Kingdom, largely drawn to water-based therapies for recovery. These services are part of a broader network of certified wellness centers in Bulgaria, emphasizing water-based health tourism.
