Information Services reported on Monday that it provided comprehensive live broadcasting and video recording services for the ballot counting following Bulgaria’s early parliamentary election on April 19. The company stated that coverage included 11,635 voting sections, representing 99.83% of all sections required for video broadcasting. This number signifies a record high since video surveillance was implemented, noting an increase of 41 sections compared to the previous election in October 2024.
The video surveillance platform, managed by Information Services, saw significant public engagement, recording over 310,000 user visits after the election, marking a 164% increase over prior elections. A total of 11,493 sections broadcasted the count live, setting a record for video coverage. Beyond the transmission of results, the company highlighted its efficiency in post-election services.
Executive Director Ivaylo Filipov noted that Information Services completed the computer processing and rechecking of tally sheets by April 21, well ahead of the mandated deadlines. To support the electoral process, the firm developed the eProtocol mobile application, which assists section election commissions in validating data and enabling civic oversight. The app was downloaded 21,000 times and contributed to reducing errors in tally sheet preparation.
Furthermore, for this election, Information Services introduced an interactive visualization tool explaining the methodology used to calculate results and allocate mandates among parties.
