Will Be Constructive, Responsible Opposition

Ayten Sabri, a Member of Parliament from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), stated that the party intends to serve as a constructive and responsible opposition during the inaugural session of the 52nd National Assembly. Sabri affirmed that the MRF will support any policy deemed beneficial to the rights and freedoms of the Bulgarian citizenry and the state. Concurrently, the party committed to acting as a principled corrective force whenever there is a deviation from principles of good governance, transparency, legality, democracy, or human rights.

Addressing the need for clear, sustainable policy amid volatile domestic and international conditions, Sabri outlined the MRF’s core priorities. These include improving the quality of life and raising living standards, achieving economic stability and growth, modernizing the economy and agricultural production, ensuring food safety, mitigating social and regional disparities, and supporting young families. Furthermore, the party emphasized preserving traditional values, advancing Bulgaria’s European integration as an effective EU member, and maintaining constructive partnerships with the US and the Euro-Atlantic community.

Sabri noted that the MRF’s actions will be guided by the principle of upholding liberty, justice, and equality for every citizen. She stressed that this commitment is essential for moving past confrontation and restoring a culture of political dialogue aimed at finding common public solutions. She concluded by urging the Parliament to exemplify political maturity, advocating that the legislative body prove its capacity to build consensus rather than division regarding key issues for Bulgaria’s future.

  1. It’s good to hear that the opposition plans to be constructive rather than purely obstructionist.
