Iotova to Attend 8th European Political Community Summit in Yerevan

President Iliana Iotova is scheduled to visit Yerevan to participate in the 8th summit of the European Political Community on May 3 and 4. The forum, themed “Building the Future: Unity and Stability in Europe,” is expected to gather nearly 50 heads of state and government. Notably, Canada will participate for the first time as a non-European guest country, represented by Prime Minister Mark Carney.

On Sunday, May 3, President Iotova’s itinerary includes bilateral meetings with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Furthermore, Iotova will visit the 131st Peyo Yavorov Primary School in Yerevan, an institution noted for its study of Bulgarian folklore. The following day, May 4, the focus shifts to regional infrastructure and energy.

President Iotova will take part in a high-level event addressing the impact of the Vertical Gas Corridor, a strategic initiative designed to enhance energy security and diversify natural gas supplies across Southeastern, Eastern, and Central Europe. During the summit, Iotova will also participate in the “European Coalition Against Drugs,” where her address will specifically focus on enhancing transport and energy connectivity within Europe. On the sidelines of the major political gathering, the head of state is scheduled to meet with Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas.

The summit serves as a key platform for deepening political dialogue and cooperation among participating European nations and international partners.
