Tsolov Takes Victory in F2 Sprint Race in Miami

Nikola Tsolov secured his second victory of the F2 season during the sprint race at the Miami Grand Prix, defeating Laurens van Hoepen in a highly contested battle. Following this win, Tsolov extended his lead in the F2 standings, establishing a nine-point advantage over van Hoepen midway through the second round of the season. The race featured a sustained duel between Campos’ Tsolov and Trident’s Van Hoepen, who remained near the front throughout the event.

Although Tsolov’s initial movement into Turn 16 appeared to concede the lead to Van Hoepen, Tsolov remained close behind until Lap 10. The battle intensified on Lap 13 when Van Hoepen managed to take the lead. For the next seven laps, the two drivers traded the top position repeatedly.

The climax of the race saw the fight continue until the final lap. Tsolov and Van Hoepen exchanged the lead one last time, with Tsolov ultimately retaking the advantage on the final straight to claim the victory. This marked Tsolov’s first F2 win in the United States, achieved with a margin of 0.170 seconds.

Alex Dunne, driving for Rodin Motorsport, joined the fight for first place late in the race but ultimately finished in third position.
