Tsolov Takes Victory in F2 Sprint Race in Miami

Nikola Tsolov achieved his second F2 victory during the sprint race at the Miami Grand Prix, winning in a closely contested battle against Laurens van Hoepen. Midway through the second round of the season, Tsolov now leads the F2 standings, maintaining a nine-point advantage over van Hoepen. The race saw Campos’ Tsolov and Trident’s van Hoepen consistently challenge for the top positions.

Tsolov’s initial movement into Turn 16 appeared to allow van Hoepen an opportunity for the lead, but Tsolov remained in contention. By Lap 10, van Hoepen managed to secure first place. The ensuing battle for the lead between Tsolov and van Hoepen remained intense, with the two drivers trading the top spot over the following seven laps.

The competition continued until the final lap, where the pair exchanged the lead multiple times. Ultimately, Tsolov regained the lead over the Dutch competitor on the final straight to secure the victory. This marks Tsolov’s first F2 win in the United States, with a margin of 0.170 seconds.

Alex Dunne, driving for Rodin Motorsport, also challenged for the lead late in the race but finished in third place.
