Nasar Wins Fourth European Weightlifting Title

Bulgarian weightlifter Karlos Nasar secured his fourth European title at the European Championships held in Batumi. Competing in the men’s 94 kg weight class, Nasar achieved a total lift of 386 kg to claim the gold medal. Nasar established an early lead in the snatch, first lifting 176 kg, and subsequently adding 210 kg in the clean and jerk.

These performances were instrumental in securing his overall victory. In the snatch, Nasar confirmed his gold medal lift with a successful 176 kg attempt after opening at 170 kg. During his final snatch attempt, he targeted a world record at 183 kg but was unsuccessful.

In the clean and jerk, Nasar’s initial 210 kg lift was invalidated by the judges upon review; however, he successfully repeated the lift on his second attempt. For his final effort, Nasar attempted 223 kg in an effort to set a world record total, but this lift was not completed. The competition saw Ara Aganyan of Armenia finish in second place with a total of 381 kg, followed by Romain Imadouchene of France who took the bronze medal with 370 kg.

The results mark a significant achievement for Nasar at the European level.
