The Burgas Municipality has announced temporary adjustments to the city’s traffic organization in observance of the Giro D’Italia cycling tour. These changes are scheduled to take effect from May 6 through May 9, impacting the central areas of the coastal city. The municipal press centre stated on Monday that key central thoroughfares will undergo closures and associated traffic restrictions to accommodate the passage of race teams and competitors.
To minimize disruption for both residents and visitors, the municipality plans to introduce alternative parking solutions. Specifically, free buffer parking lots will be provided across the area. On May 8th and May 9th, the right lanes of Odrin Street and San Stefano Boulevard have been designated to serve as these overflow parking zones.
The cycling event schedule dictates the necessary adjustments. On May 6, the official team presentation for the race will take place at the Burgas Summer Theatre. The schedule continues with the final stage of the first leg on May 8th, followed by the start of the second stage on May 9th.
The local administration advises the public to plan travel accordingly to navigate the necessary traffic alterations throughout the duration of the major sporting event.
