The Burgas Municipality has announced temporary alterations to the city’s traffic organization in preparation for the Giro D’Italia cycling tour. These adjustments will be in effect from May 6 through May 9, according to the municipal press centre. Due to the high volume of activity associated with the professional cycling event, key central streets are scheduled for closure, and residents and visitors can anticipate significant traffic restrictions throughout the designated period.
To minimize disruption for the local populace and visiting guests, the municipality plans to introduce several measures aimed at maintaining accessibility. Specifically, free buffer parking lots will be established. On May 8 and May 9, the right-hand lanes along Odrin Street and San Stefano Boulevard have been designated to serve as these alternative parking zones.
The tour schedule dictates several key events within the city center. The official team presentation for the race will take place on May 6 at the Burgas Summer Theatre. The schedule continues with the conclusion of the first stage on May 8, followed by the commencement of the second stage on May 9.
The municipality advises the public to plan travel routes accordingly to accommodate these temporary changes to the usual traffic flow.
