Municipality to Introduce Temporary Traffic Changes for Giro D’Italia

The Burgas Municipality has announced temporary modifications to the city’s traffic organization in preparation for the Giro D’Italia cycling tour, scheduled to take place from May 6 through May 9. The municipal press center issued a statement on Monday confirming that key central streets will undergo closures and associated traffic restrictions due to the passage of race participants and associated events. To minimize disruption for both local residents and visiting guests, the municipality plans to introduce alternative logistical solutions, including the establishment of free-access buffer parking lots throughout the affected area.

Specifically, on May 8 and May 9, the right lanes along Odrin Street and San Stefano Boulevard have been designated as official buffer parking zones. The cycling tour itinerary involves several key dates. On May 6, the official team presentation ceremony will be held at the Burgas Summer Theatre.

The event schedule progresses significantly on May 8, when Burgas will host the final stage of the first leg of the Giro D’Italia. The activity continues the following day, May 9, with the start of the second stage of the tour. These measures are being implemented to ensure the smooth operation of the major sporting event while managing the resulting changes to daily traffic flow within the city center.
