The Burgas Municipality has announced temporary alterations to the city’s traffic organization due to the upcoming Giro D’Italia cycling tour. These changes are scheduled to take effect from May 6 through May 9. The municipal press center confirmed that key central streets will undergo closures, and residents and visitors should anticipate various traffic restrictions as the professional cycling teams and competitors move through the area.
To minimize inconvenience for the local population and guests, the municipality plans to introduce alternative parking solutions. Specifically, free-access buffer parking lots will be established. On May 8 and May 9, the right lanes of both Odrin Street and San Stefano Boulevard have been designated to serve as these overflow parking zones.
The tour itinerary includes several key dates. On May 6, the official presentation ceremony for all participating teams will be held at the Burgas Summer Theatre. The main action follows on May 8, when Burgas will host the final stage race of the first leg of the Giro D’Italia.
The festivities continue on May 9, marking the start of the second stage of the tour. Authorities advise the public to review the planned routes and parking adjustments to navigate the city smoothly during this major sporting event.
