Nasar Wins Fourth European Weightlifting Title

Bulgarian weightlifter Karlos Nasar secured his fourth European title at the European Championships held in Batumi. Competing in the men’s 94 kg weight class, Nasar achieved a total lift of 386 kg to claim the gold medal. Nasar established an early lead in the snatch with a lift of 176 kg, followed by a 210 kg lift in the clean and jerk.

His performances in both disciplines were among the best, leading to his overall victory. In the snatch, Nasar successfully lifted 176 kg on his opening attempt, solidifying his lead. While he attempted a world record lift of 183 kg on his final attempt, it was not successfully completed.

During the clean and jerk, Nasar initially lifted 210 kg, but the judges did not validate the lift after review. He successfully repeated this weight on his second attempt. For his final lift, Nasar aimed for a world record total by attempting 223 kg, but this lift was unsuccessful.

The competition saw Ara Aganyan of Armenia finish in second place with a total of 381 kg, and Romain Imadouchene of France secured the bronze medal with 370 kg. Nasar’s victory marks his fourth European championship title.
