Bulgarian weightlifter Karlos Nasar secured his fourth European title at the European Championships held in Batumi. Competing in the men’s 94 kg weight class, Nasar achieved a total weight of 386 kg to claim the overall victory. Nasar’s performance was marked by strong showings in both the snatch and the clean and jerk.
In the snatch, he established an early lead with a lift of 176 kg, later confirming his gold medal lift at that weight after an initial opening attempt of 170 kg. While Nasar attempted a world record lift of 183 kg in his final snatch attempt, he was unsuccessful. In the clean and jerk, Nasar’s initial lift of 210 kg was not validated by the judges upon review, requiring him to successfully repeat the weight on his second attempt.
For his final lift, Nasar aimed for a world record total by attempting 223 kg, but this lift was unsuccessful. The competition saw Armenia’s Ara Aganyan finish in second place with a total of 381 kg. Romain Imadouchene of France secured the bronze medal with a total of 370 kg.
Nasar’s victory marks his fourth European title, solidifying his dominance in the men’s 94 kg category at the European Championships.
