Nasar Wins Fourth European Weightlifting Title

Bulgarian weightlifter Karlos Nasar secured his fourth European title at the European Championships held in Batumi. Competing in the men’s 94 kg weight class, Nasar achieved a total of 386 kg to claim the overall victory. Nasar established an early lead in the snatch with a lift of 176 kg, followed by a clean and jerk of 210 kg, resulting in superior performance across both disciplines.

The competition saw Ara Aganyan of Armenia finish in second place with a total of 381 kg, and Romain Imadouchene of France secure the bronze medal with 370 kg. During the snatch portion, Nasar successfully lifted 176 kg after initially opening at 170 kg. In his final attempt, he attempted a lift of 183 kg, aiming for a world record, but was unsuccessful.

For the clean and jerk, Nasar’s initial 210 kg lift was invalidated by the judges upon review; however, he successfully lifted the same weight on his second attempt. His final lift attempt was set at 223 kg, intended to set a world record total, but this attempt was also unsuccessful. Nasar’s dominant performance ensured his fourth European championship title.
