Two of President Iotova’s Armenia Visit for European Political Community Summit

Bulgarian President Iliana Iotova is continuing her visit to Armenia for the Eighth Summit of the European Political Community, commencing in Yerevan on Monday. During the summit, the President is scheduled to address a high-level event concerning the impact of the Vertical Gas Corridor on regional energy security. This strategic initiative is designed to enhance energy security and diversify natural gas supplies across Southeastern, Eastern, and Central Europe.

In her address at the forum, President Iotova will emphasize the importance of transport and energy connectivity throughout Europe. She will also participate in the “European Coalition Against Drugs” event as part of the broader Summit agenda. On the sidelines, she is set to meet with Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas.

The Summit is co-chaired by European Council President Antonio Costa and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Previously, on Sunday, President Iotova and Mr. Pashinyan signed a Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership between Bulgaria and Armenia.

During this visit, Iotova also visited the Peyo Yavorov Primary School in Yerevan. Furthermore, President Iotova and her Armenian counterpart, Vahagn Khachaturyan, discussed avenues to strengthen bilateral cooperation. Throughout her visit, the president has highlighted the critical role of the European Political Community in fostering connectivity and advancing relations across the continent.
