The DianaMar Balneo Hotel in Pavel Banya is currently undergoing a comprehensive renovation of its spa center. General Manager Georgi Paunov reported that the upgrades will include the addition of a new ice room alongside improvements to the existing salt rooms, steam baths, and saunas. DianaMar functions as an extension of the Avicenna Medical Centre’s activities, building upon its previous development at the Markoni Balneo Hotel.
The facility’s design draws inspiration from leading European balneological resorts, aiming to structurally improve the complex with innovative methods. The center’s team comprises specialists in physical and rehabilitation medicine, ensuring all procedures adhere to strict medical standards. Guests can utilize advanced treatments such as hyperbaric oxygenation, cryotherapy, focused high-intensity EMSELLA therapy, and focused shockwave therapy (FSWT).
These methods support both medical recovery and athletic preparation, promising reduced recovery times and enhanced efficacy. The core focus remains on balneotherapy, leveraging the mineral-rich water of Pavel Banya, which is beneficial for treating musculoskeletal disorders. Complementary spa and wellness services, combined with kinesitherapy, are also provided.
The 80-room hotel maintains high occupancy rates, attracting international visitors from various countries. In a broader industry context, BTA highlights its coverage of certified spa and medical centers across Bulgaria. This initiative is linked to Europe’s major health tourism event, the HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT, scheduled for 2026 in Varna, Sts.
Constantine and Helena, Golden Sands, and Albena, positioning the region as a key destination for wellness tourism.
