Co-leader Bozhidar Bozhanov stated that dialogue remains possible with Continue the Change (CC) following the initial proposal for a coalition agreement involving Yes, Bulgaria, and Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB). Speaking on bTV on Monday, Bozhanov highlighted that the parties share significant common ground, noting that “judicial reform is one of the issues on which we fully overlap.” While the three parties have informally collaborated since February 2023, the current discussion centers on formalizing this cooperation through a written agreement. A potential long-term objective discussed is the merger of the coalition members into a single political entity.
In a separate interview on Monday, Ivaylo Mirchev, another co-leader of Yes, Bulgaria, addressed the possibility of unification with DSB and CC, stating that such a move hinges on mutual agreement among all involved groups. Mirchev acknowledged the success of the informal cooperation but emphasized that voters prefer to see a consolidated political project. He stressed the necessity of establishing a common presidential candidate, expressing confidence in the community’s ability to select a strong representative.
These developments point toward a concerted effort within Bulgaria to solidify a political bloc. Mirchev also offered a commendation, describing the current caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gurov as “perhaps the most successful Bulgarian caretaker prime minister.” The underlying idea among the leaders appears to be transitioning from ad-hoc cooperation to a structured, unified political front to better address national priorities.
