Candidates Elected in Two Constituencies Declare Which One They Will Represent

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has finalized the declarations regarding which list certain candidates wish to represent in the 52nd National Assembly. This process addresses individuals who were elected in two separate Multi-Member Constituencies (MMCs). During a meeting on Friday, the Deputy Chair of the CEC announced the decisions of 14 such candidates.

Previously, the commission had noted 13 candidates elected across two MMCs on Thursday; the count increased to 14 following a declaration from Katya Paneva, who was included after a list leader finalized their choice of constituency. The declarations specify the preferred MMC for each individual. For example, Alexander Georgiev Pulev opted to enter from MMC 27 – Stara Zagora rather than MMC 30 – Shumen.

Similarly, Ivan Petev Demerdzhiev chose MMC 9 – Kardzhali over MMC 24 – Sofia. Other shifts include Rumen Georgiev Radev selecting MMC 25 – Sofia instead of MMC 2 – Burgas, and Boyko Metodiev Borissov moving from MMC 25 – Sofia to MMC 16 – Plovdiv. The remaining candidates whose preferred MMCs were declared include Delyan Aleksandrov Dobrev (MMC 24 – Sofia), Tomislav Peykov Donchev (MMC 7 – Gabrovo), Asen Vaskov Vassilev (MMC 16 – Plovdiv), and Nikolay Denkov Denkov (MMC 1 – Blagoevgrad).

Further declarations were made by Katya Maksimova Paneva (MMC 25 – Sofia), Delyan Slavchev Peevski (MMC 9 – Kardzhali), Dimitar Ivanov Avramov (MMC 15 – Pleven), Halil Redzhepov Letifov (MMC 22 – Smolyan), Kostadin Todorov Kostadinov (MMC 25 – Sofia), and Tsoncho Tomov Ganev (MMC 23 – Sofia). The CEC is scheduled to release the comprehensive list of members for the 52nd National Assembly on Saturday. Previously, the commission had also announced the distribution of seats among political parties for the upcoming parliament.
