The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced the specific constituency choices for fourteen candidates who were elected from two multi-member constituencies (MMCs) slated to enter the 52nd National Assembly. The Deputy Chair of the CEC confirmed these decisions during a meeting on Friday. Previously, the CEC had reported that thirteen candidates were elected across the two MMCs.
This number increased to fourteen after Katya Paneva finalized her choice of constituency. These fourteen individuals have now formally declared which MMC they will represent in the upcoming Assembly. The declarations detailed several shifts in representation.
For example, Alexander Georgiev Pulev opted to enter from MMC 27 – Stara Zagora, rather than MMC 30 – Shumen. Similarly, Ivan Petev Demerdzhiev will represent MMC 9 – Kardzhali instead of MMC 24 – Sofia, while Rumen Georgiev Radev chose MMC 25 – Sofia over MMC 2 – Burgas. Other individuals making specified changes include Boyko Metodiev Borissov moving from MMC 25 – Sofia to MMC 16 – Plovdiv, and Delyan Aleksandrov Dobrev from MMC 24 – Sofia instead of MMC 29 – Haskovo.
Further shifts noted are Tomislav Peykov Donchev choosing MMC 7 – Gabrovo over MMC 23 – Sofia, and Nikolay Denkov Denkov selecting MMC 1 – Blagoevgrad instead of MMC 23 – Sofia. The CEC is scheduled to release the complete roster of members for the 52nd National Assembly on Saturday. Furthermore, the commission had previously announced the overall distribution of seats among various political parties for the next parliamentary term.
