Following the service, representatives from the academic community will participate in a procession led by President Iotova and Patriarch Daniil to the BAS building. The national commemorative assembly will officially open with remarks from BAS President Evelina Slavcheva, followed by a blessing from Patriarch Daniil.
Rector of Sofia University, Prof. Georgi Valchev, is set to address the gathering. Academician Ivan Ilchev will present the keynote report, “The Uprising That Returned Bulgaria to the Map of Europe.” President Iotova will also deliver a welcoming speech.
The event is organized by the Assembly of Academicians and Corresponding Members, with support from the leadership of BAS. To mark this significant milestone, a National Initiative Committee was established, and BAS provided a comprehensive national calendar of events for all participants.
