–DB MP Iordanova: We Respect People’s Vote, Will Take Rightful Place as Opposition, But Not Mere Bystanders

Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) MP Nadejda Iordanova addressed the inaugural session of the 52nd National Assembly, stating that while her parliamentary group respects the will of the Bulgarian people and accepts the role of the opposition, they intend to remain actively engaged. Iordanova emphasized that the nation is currently seeking a resolution to an extended political crisis. She asserted that the public demands tangible evidence that politics can genuinely serve its citizens rather than prioritizing itself.

Iordanova noted that the leading political force has secured a majority, thereby assuming a significant governing responsibility. According to her, the mandate given to Progressive Bulgaria carries a primary objective: dismantling the previous governing structure, which she referred to as the Borissov-Peevski model. She reiterated that the opposition will consistently defend the rule of law.

Iordanova stated that the people demanded an end to a state perceived as being under siege, characterized by impunity and institutions that allegedly serve powerful interests over the needs of the citizenry. For Iordanova, the current political climate requires accountability, ensuring that governance remains focused on the public good.
