During the inaugural session of the 52nd National Assembly, Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) MP Nadejda Iordanova addressed the parliamentary group. Speaking on behalf of her party, Iordanova stated that while they respect the electoral results and accept their role as the opposition, they intend to be actively involved rather than remaining passive observers. Iordanova noted that the nation is entering the Assembly amid a protracted political crisis.
She emphasized that the populace seeks tangible evidence that the political system can function for the benefit of its citizens, rather than serving internal political interests. She addressed the mandate secured by the leading political force, stating that the public has entrusted Progressive Bulgaria with a clear mandate. According to Iordanova, this mandate specifically requires dismantling the previous political structure, which she referred to as the Borissov-Peevski model.
The MP maintained that CC-DB will remain committed to defending the rule of law. She argued that the citizens demanded an end to a state perceived as being under siege, and an end to institutional practices that afford impunity or serve vested interests instead of the general public. For Iordanova, the core message was that the focus must remain on serving the people, and the political system must not become an end in itself.
