The Central Election Commission (CEC) issued an announcement on Thursday detailing the allocation of parliamentary seats for the 52nd National Assembly. According to CEC Chair Kamelia Neykova, the Progressive Bulgaria coalition secured a majority mandate, claiming 131 seats. This allocation represents 54.58% of the total 240 seats available in the national legislature.
Neykova also provided statistics regarding the election’s participation, noting that the overall voter turnout for the April 19 elections reached 3,360,330 individuals. Furthermore, the Commission reported several adjustments concerning the composition of the incoming assembly. Specifically, 21 candidates who were initially slated to serve have declined to take their seats.
In terms of candidate lists, several adjustments were processed. Nineteen individuals requested removal from the candidate lists associated with the MRF, alongside single removal requests from Progressive Bulgaria and GERB-UDF. These administrative changes are part of the finalization process for the legislative body.
