The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced the allocation of parliamentary seats to various parties and coalitions for the 52nd National Assembly on Thursday. CEC Chair Kamelia Neykova confirmed that the Progressive Bulgaria coalition secured a majority, representing 131 Members of Parliament (MPs), which accounts for 54.58% of the total 240 seats available. Neykova also provided statistics regarding the election, noting that the total number of voters who participated in the April 19 elections was 3,360,330.
Furthermore, the CEC reported that twenty-one candidates initially nominated for the National Assembly have subsequently declined to take their seats. In addition to the withdrawals, nineteen individuals requested removal from the candidate lists of the MRF, one candidate from Progressive Bulgaria, and one from GERB-UDF. The CEC is scheduled to publish the definitive and full list of all members of the 52nd National Assembly on Saturday.
