Election Commission Announces Seat Distribution in 52nd National Assembly

The Central Election Commission (CEC) issued an announcement on Thursday detailing the distribution of parliamentary seats for the 52nd National Assembly. According to CEC Chair Kamelia Neykova, the Progressive Bulgaria coalition has secured a majority, achieving 131 seats, which represents 54.58% of the total 240 seats available in the national legislature. Neykova also provided figures related to the electoral process, reporting that the total number of voters who participated in the April 19 elections reached 3,360,330.

Furthermore, the commission noted several adjustments regarding the composition of the incoming assembly. A total of 21 candidates have formally declined to serve as members of the 52nd National Assembly. In terms of candidate lists, the CEC documented several withdrawals.

Nineteen individuals requested removal from the MRF’s candidate lists, alongside one withdrawal from Progressive Bulgaria and one from GERB-UDF. These adjustments are being processed as the commission finalizes the membership roster. The CEC anticipates releasing the complete and final list of members for the 52nd National Assembly on Saturday.
