Election Commission: Based on 96.41% of Tally Sheets, Progressive Bulgaria Leads with 44.7%, GERB-UDF Second with 13.4%

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has released preliminary results concerning the parliamentary election held on April 19. These initial findings are based on the processing of 96.41% of the tally sheets collected from the section election commissions and subsequently processed at the constituency level, according to data available at 11 am on Monday. The preliminary announcement identified the parties and coalitions that successfully crossed the mandated 4% electoral threshold.

This represents the eighth parliamentary election in Bulgaria since 2021. Procedurally, the Election Code stipulates clear timelines for the CEC. The commission is required to announce the total votes received and the subsequent distribution of seats among all participating parties and coalitions no later than four days following the election day.

Furthermore, the names of the duly elected Members of Parliament must be officially published within seven days of the election. The release of these preliminary figures provides an initial overview of the electoral outcome, while the remaining data processing is expected to finalize the official count. The CEC continues to manage the tabulation process to ensure all regional reports are accounted for, providing a comprehensive record of the vote across the entire electorate.
