The Central Election Commission (CEC) released preliminary results from the parliamentary election held on April 19. These initial figures are based on a review of 60.79% of the available tally sheets as of 6 a.m. on Monday.

According to the Election Code, the CEC is mandated to announce the total votes received and the subsequent distribution of seats among political parties and coalitions no later than four days following the election date. Furthermore, the official names of the elected Members of Parliament are required to be published within seven days of the election. These proceedings mark the eighth parliamentary election in Bulgaria since 2021.

The commission’s preliminary reporting provides an early indication of the electoral outcome. The process involves the careful collation of data from various sources to determine the final allocation of legislative seats. The public announcement of the vote counts and seat distribution is governed by specific timelines set out in the Election Code, ensuring a structured and transparent conclusion to the election cycle.

The preliminary tally sheets reviewed by the commission are key components in this ongoing reporting process.
