Election Commission: With 60.79% of Tally Sheets Processed, Progressive Bulgaria Leads with 44.6%, Second Is CC-DB with 14.3%

The Central Election Commission (CEC) released preliminary results from the parliamentary election held on April 19, based on the analysis of 60.79% of the available tally sheets as of 6:00 AM on Monday. Under the provisions of the Election Code, the CEC is mandated to announce the total votes received and the subsequent distribution of seats among participating parties and coalitions no later than four days following the election date. Furthermore, the names of the elected Members of Parliament must be published within seven days of the election.

These proceedings marked the eighth parliamentary election in Bulgaria since 2021. The release of these interim figures provides an initial assessment of the electoral outcome. The commission’s ongoing process involves systematically tabulating results from various polling stations across the country.

The preliminary data serves as an early indicator of the political landscape following the vote. The process outlined by the Election Code dictates a phased announcement of results. The initial focus is on the vote counts and the proportional allocation of parliamentary seats.

Following this, the commission will proceed with confirming the final list of elected representatives. Stakeholders and political observers are monitoring the CEC’s adherence to the stipulated timelines for the final tally and declaration of results.
