The Megdanski Leventi, a musical duo featuring Aleksander Andonov from Nessebar, Bulgaria, and Georgi Dushev from Castelo de Rugat, Spain, will perform at the 11th edition of “Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance.” This event is scheduled to take place from May 15 to 17 at BMW Park in Munich, Germany. The 16-year-old musicians will present a piece titled “A Walk Through The Shopluka,” which they described as having a bright character, lively rhythm, and authentic folk spirit. The duo stated that their collaboration stems from a shared love for Bulgarian folk music and a strong friendship, which has maintained connections despite geographical distance, with online interaction and holiday gatherings being particularly valued.
They also mentioned that their performance incorporates a touch of humor, a suggestion stemming from their teacher, and they hope it will entertain and surprise the audience. The festival, organized for and by amateur folklore ensembles performing outside Bulgaria, was initiated by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France. This group hosted the first edition in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025.
The 11th Munich event anticipates participation from over 100 dance ensembles and an attendance of more than 4,000 guests. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) is the official media partner for the event and will feature all participants.
