Leventi Duo to Present Piece for Two Bagpipes in Munich

The Megdanski Leventi, a musical duo featuring Aleksander Andonov of Nessebar, Bulgaria, and Georgi Dushev of Castelo de Rugat, Spain, is set to present a performance at the 11th iteration of “Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance.” This event will take place from May 15 to May 17 at BMW Park in Munich, Germany. The 16-year-old musicians, who are graduates of the esteemed bagpipe teacher Petko Stoyanov in Nessebar, created a piece titled “A Walk Through The Shopluka.” According to the artists, the music is characterized by a bright character, a lively rhythm, and an authentic folk spirit. They noted that their collaboration stems from a deep friendship and a shared passion for Bulgarian folk music, which often connects them even when they are not physically together.

The accompanying performance also incorporates elements of humor, which the musicians hope will engage the audience. The traveling festival, “Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance,” serves as a gathering for amateur folklore ensembles performing outside of Bulgaria. The initiative was originally launched by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted both the inaugural event in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025.

For the 11th edition in Munich, organizers anticipate participation from over 100 dance ensembles and an attendance exceeding 4,000 guests. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) is serving as the official media partner for the event.
