Support 26-1 Military Exercise to Take Place from April 27 to 30

The Logistics Support 26-1 tactical-special exercise is scheduled to take place from April 27 to April 30 at the Todorovo training ground. The central theme of this exercise is the deployment of a convoy support centre designed to facilitate the movement of allied forces domestically. According to the Defence Ministry press service on Friday, up to 200 military personnel and approximately 50 pieces of equipment from units under the Logistics Support Command in Sofia and Lovech are slated to participate.

In preparation for the event, on April 27 and 30, personnel and military equipment will be moved via the national road network from Sofia and Lovech to the Todorovo vehicle depot near Pleven, in North Central Bulgaria. Furthermore, logistical movements involving allied forces are planned around the exercise. On April 27 and 28, military personnel, vehicles, and supplies belonging to the Polish Armed Forces will transit through the national road network.

This movement is in preparation for their participation in the NATO Tiger Meet 2026 exercise in Greece, with their return journey through Bulgaria scheduled for May 16 and 17. Separately, between April 28 and May 1, rail convoys belonging to the Swedish armed forces will also pass through the country, demonstrating ongoing military coordination and support across various international exercise and transit operations.
