The Logistic Support 26-1 tactical-special exercise is scheduled to take place from April 27 to April 30 at the Todorovo training ground. The central theme of this military support operation is the “Deployment of a convoy support centre to ensure the movement of allied forces within the country.” According to the Defence Ministry press service on Friday, the event will involve up to 200 military personnel and up to 50 pieces of equipment drawn from military units under the Logistics Support Command in Sofia and Lovech. Preparations for the exercise include the transportation of personnel and military equipment via the national road network on April 27 and 30.
These resources will move from Sofia and Lovech to the Todorovo vehicle depot near Pleven in North Central Bulgaria. Furthermore, other international military activities are scheduled concurrently. On April 27 and 28, personnel, vehicles, and supplies belonging to the Polish Armed Forces will be transported across the national road network to participate in the NATO Tiger Meet 2026 exercise in Greece.
Their return journey through Bulgaria is slated for May 16 and 17. Additionally, between April 28 and May 1, rail convoys belonging to the armed forces of Sweden are expected to pass through the country.
