The Logistic Support 26-1 tactical-special exercise is scheduled to take place from April 27 to April 30 at the Todorovo training ground. The central theme of this exercise is the “Deployment of a convoy support centre to ensure the movement of allied forces within the country.” According to the Defence Ministry press service on Friday, participation will involve up to 200 military personnel and up to 50 pieces of equipment drawn from military units under the Logistics Support Command in Sofia and Lovech. In preparation for the exercise, personnel and military equipment will be transported via the national road network from Sofia and Lovech to the Todorovo vehicle depot near Pleven, North Central Bulgaria, on April 27 and April 30.
Additionally, the national infrastructure will facilitate other international military movements. On April 27 and 28, military personnel, vehicles, and supplies belonging to the Polish Armed Forces will be transported across the national road network to participate in the NATO Tiger Meet 2026 exercise in Greece, with their return through Bulgaria scheduled for May 16 and 17. Furthermore, between April 28 and May 1, rail convoys from the Swedish armed forces will transit through the country.
These coordinated movements underscore the role of Bulgarian logistics in providing necessary support for international military operations and training.
