Election Commission: With 78.24% of Tally Sheets Processed, Progressive Bulgaria Leads with 44.5%, Second Is CC-DB with 13.7%

The Central Election Commission (CEC) released preliminary results from the parliamentary elections held on April 19. These initial figures are based on the processing of 78.24% of the tally sheets by the section election commissions, which were subsequently processed at the constituency election commissions as of 8:00 AM on Monday. Under the established Election Code, the CEC is mandated to announce the total votes received and the allocation of seats among political parties and coalitions no later than four days following the election date.

Furthermore, the names of the elected Members of Parliament must be officially published within seven days of the election. These proceedings mark the eighth parliamentary election in Bulgaria since 2021. The release of these preliminary data represents a key procedural step in the overall election tabulation process.

The commission continues to process remaining tally sheets to finalize the official results. The initial data provides an early indication of the vote distribution, pending the full count from all participating election commissions.
