Election Commission: With 87.23% of Tally Sheets Processed, Progressive Bulgaria Leads with 44.6%, Second Is CC-DB with 13.5%

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has released preliminary results concerning the parliamentary election held on April 19. These initial figures are based on the processing of 87.23% of the required tally sheets. The data was compiled through the section election commissions and subsequently aggregated at the constituency election commissions as of 9:00 a.m.

on Monday. Under the established Election Code, the CEC is bound by specific timelines for the final announcement of results. Specifically, the commission must declare the total votes received and the subsequent distribution of seats among political parties and coalitions no later than four days following the election day.

Furthermore, the identities of the elected Members of Parliament must be officially announced within seven days of the voting period’s conclusion. This electoral process marked the eighth parliamentary election in Bulgaria since 2021. The release of these preliminary data provides an initial overview of the voting outcome, drawing from the detailed work of the local election commission bodies.

The systematic collection and aggregation of the tally sheets by the various commissions are crucial steps toward finalizing the composition of the legislative body.
